Perfect for the game…
If you read through some of the recipes that I have posted, there is a theme that runs through it involving my air fryer…and my husband.
Anything that involves ‘game day’ type food, he suddenly becomes very interested in what I do. Whether it is corn dogs, potato wedges or even popcorn…he is paying attention.
If you are looking at fool proof recipes that even a complete novice can handle, your air fryer is actually your best friend.
Air fried tortilla chips are perfect for the big game. They make a great addition to a selection and are guaranteed to leave the plate empty.
In this article, I will show you my recipe for air fryer tortilla chips and show you how to make tortilla chips in an air fryer.
Things to consider
The main thing that needs some consideration is whether you choose to use flour or corn to make your tortillas.
Personally, I am a fan of corn flour tortillas as I like the end product. They end up super crispy on the outside but are still soft on the inside. As far as quality goes, they are great.
Regular flour also delivers good results but I guess you choose whatever tortilla suits you. If you are watching the waistline, consider using low carb flour.
What is for sure, the end result will be the same as a store-bought packet of tortilla chips. You have to be happy with that right?

Secrets & tips for air fryer tortilla chips
Not all brands of tortillas are the same so it is definitely worth experimenting with different brands if you want to make tortilla chips out of them. This is also relevant if you want to reduce the calories, as most brands deliver differing calorie levels.
Ensure that you are leaving room for the air to circulate freely around the basket of the air fryer. This may mean that you have to batch cook them but if you want crisp tortilla chips, this is necessary.

Finally, don’t be afraid to make mistakes. It is worth experimenting a little and truly finding out what your air fryer can achieve. Leave your tortilla chips in a little longer, does that improve the crispiness? There is only one way to find out…experiment!
