Seasoning is an important process to protect your cast iron skillet. The process is there to add a patina to the bare cast iron skillet. This is for two reasons;<\/p>\n

  • Add a non-stick quality to the skillet<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    This is an important process. Failure to season your cast iron results in rust. Therefore, it renders it useless and it\u2019s a lot of work to save it from the scrap heap.<\/p>\n

    A seasoned skillet is a maintained skillet. It is a joy to cook with so spend a little time to do it properly. Remember, cast iron cookware can last for generations so a little effort every now and again is a great time investment.<\/p>\n
